Blue Ribbon Task
Force to call on Congress for legislative hearings
regarding gun violence in America today.
Congressman Albert Wynn (D-MD0 with the support of
Congressman Elijah Cummings, (D-MD), has
commissioned this Blue Ribbon Task Force in order to
address the epidemic of gun violence, increasing
youth violence, and overall incidents of violence
permeating American cities today and to call on
Congress to hold legislative hearings to bring this
issue to the forefront of the government and the
American public.
The Task Force has as its mission to make
recommendations to Congressman Wynn for legislation
to present to Congress to help make our cities and
communities safer for all its youth and its
citizens; to look at violence as a health crisis; to
look at violence as the symptom of the problem and
thus address the root causes; and to offer ideas and
solutions based on best practices and successful
models to reduce violence, gun violence, and
increasing incidents of youth violence.
