Please join us for our “Love Peace & Community Unity” Million Youth Peace March on Washington Saturday October 3, 2015.
Kitra Williams, leading lady of Tyler Perry’s “Dairy Of A Mad Black Woman,” TD Jake’s “Woman Thou Art Loosed “and Oprah Winfrey’s “The Color Purple” along with her Son Jayrah Gibson, Co-Founder of America’s First Million Youth Peace March and former American Idol participant, joins alliance with Studio 618 and a cadre of other community leaders to “Make A Pact To Bridge The Gap” between youth, the police force and community leaders worldwide. Amongst organizers are Tommy Ford- Actor from the hit sit com, and Choo Smith from the Harlem Globe Trotters.
The March will kick off with The Agape Awards on Friday, October 2, 2015. This Black Tie and Red Carpet, event at the Double Tree by Hilton in Crystal City where we will show-case original excerpts of youth as they share their real life stories from tragedy to triumph! The ceremony will be hosted by Mr. Tommy Ford and Choo Smith and will kick off our March, Saturday October 3rd where we will line up at Lafayette Park at 10am and March to the Lincoln Memorial for our 2 hour ceremony at 12:00pm!
Come enjoy our 500 voice Capitol Hill /multi-culture choir directed by Grover Wilson & Elaine Ramos! We will also feature youth entrepreneur speakers, and provide opportunities for auditions with Kitra Williams & Tommy Ford’s play and film productions! Local and National police officers will discuss how as a community we can “bridge the gap,” build a greater relationship with each other and work together to reduce crime and bulling in our communities worldwide. There will also be Line dancing, voter’s registrations and education on “Mental Health & Wellness.”
We will end our ceremony with the signing of a peace treaty and a shofar blowing/ tribute to honor the many falling Angels victim to gun violence. This is not just another March as usual! We aim to unite in the spirit of peace and obtain a passed resolution from our Congress and President, proclaiming July 14th as a National day of recognition called, “Youth Peace Day International Our goal is to “Bridge The Gap” with our youth and we who pledged to serve and protect them!
