Jan 14, 2008 - ROOT New England Chapter opens with historic conference.. 

ROOT (Reaching Out to Others Together), Inc. and its Board of Directors is proud to formally

announce the establishment of the first official chapter of ROOT outside of its home base in Washington, DC, and the opening of the New England office located in Boston as it begins a nationwide campaign and movement to address the epidemic of youth violence and gun violence in cities and communities throughout America.  The historic press

In 2002 alone - 3,012 children and teens were killed by gun violence in the United States.  That is one child every three (3) hours, eight (8) children every day, and more than 50 children every week.  In addition every year at least 4-5 times as many children and teens suffer from non-lethal firearm injuries.
